Brand New LG French Door Refrigerator - Known rusting problem on ""Stainless Steel"" Door! - LG 25 CF 3 Door Refrigerator #LFC2577SS1

I purchased what I thought was a beautiful new LG Refrigerator at BrandsMart. Less than 90 days later, I noticed long streaks of rust on the inside frame of the door. I tried rubbing it with a soft cloth, but it appeared to be rust coming through the supposed "stainless steel" finish. I asked my husband to take a look at it and he tried a little bit of stainless steel polish on it, but it did NOT remove the rust. I suspect the rust is coming through the finish, and doubt it is even stainless steel; if it is, it must be a very low grade. In addition, bolts and brackets on the bottom of both upper doors are beginning to rust. This is only the rust we CAN see. I see many, many complaints online of similar known issues, and I feel it must be an inferior stainless "steel- like" finish that is being used that causes it.

I called in and they opened a case on it, and made me go to the trouble of taking photographs and uploading them, the representative "Kristin" assuring me that if SHE paid $1,600 for an appliance and had this occur within 90 days, she TOO would be upset. She PROMISED me a call back shortly. 4 days later, hearing nothing, I called again, and was flatly told by "Diane" that "Sorry - it is cosmetic and we do not cover that." So why did I run around taking photos and uploading them if they never intended to cover it? I would have been calling Consumer Affairs that day instead of waiting! When I asked to speak to a supervisor, one was (conveniently) not available. She did claim to write a complain ticket and PROMISED me a call back. I will not hold my breath, and am going to escalate this to the next level.

I suspect that if investigated what LG is selling as stainless steel, it would be discovered probably NOT actually stainless steel (thus the definition of the word "STAINLESS") ... which would bring to light not just producing a poor quality product but possible consumer fraud. Even the SCREWS and brackets that hold the door on are rusting! Unheard of! I might note that there is no ice or water though the door; and definitely nothing that would cause rust to occur ... basically "from the inside out".

The lack of customer service support from LG is only the tip of the iceberg. I need help in resolving this issue and I refuse to let it rest. I am uncertain if LG responds, what kind of a solution they could provide. Even if they replaces the rusting door and bolts AND brackets -- how do I know the same problem will not reoccur over and over?

What is worse -- I bought the refrigerator's expensive little brother, an LG Dishwasher at Best Buy as well! When LG first came on the scene, they had a great reputation, but I guess based on the internet complaints or late .. between that time and the time I invested nearly $2,400 with them, their reputation has appeared to be as tarnished as my refrigerator door, and it does not appear that any help is forthcoming.

What do I do with a brand new beautiful $1,600 rusting refrigerator?? Can anyone help me???

I am having exactly the same problem on 4 brand new stainless steel appliances from LG. I just called LG and they are telling me that it is not a known problem along with what they have told you. I think we should gather more people and make it a known problem.
